The definitions of words and terms used in this code shall be given those meanings that are given them by the Indiana State Code or the Code of Indianapolis-Marion County. However, if there is any conflict between the meanings then the definition in state law will be used. If no definition is found in either state or county law, then the common or usual definitions shall be given to the words or terms. If a chapter or section of this code gives a specific definition to a word or term or set of words or terms then that section or chapter shall prevail over this section as to the definition of the words or terms.
