(1) Providing for the general public safety of the town’s citizens, residents, businesses, travelers, and the general public while in and near the town;

(2) Providing for the public roadways and rights-of-way within the town boundaries;

(3) Providing for the fiscal stability of the town and its finances and to ensure the prompt payment of the town’s just expenses and other financial obligations of the town;

(4) Providing for the proper accounting and safekeeping of town property and assets;

(5) Providing for the payment of salary and benefits and required withholding for town employees;

(6) Providing for the town parks and town cemeteries, if any;

(7) Providing for the proper budgeting for town operations, expenses, and revenues necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the town;

(8) Providing for continuity of town government for the benefit of the town’s citizens, residents, businesses, travelers, and the general public during times of emergency. [Ord. 20-04 § 3, 2020.]
