All persons engaged in the practice of entering upon the premises of private residences in the town, without invitation, soliciting contributions, soliciting for services to be rendered or soliciting orders for goods to be delivered in the future must first register with the clerk-treasurer of the town or the clerk-treasurer’s designee. Each person or entity soliciting shall pay a registration fee of $75.00 prior to commencement of any solicitation within the town.

A registration fee for any disabled American veteran shall be waived.

Persons and/or organizations exempt from this chapter pursuant to HMC 5.05.070 may register with the clerk-treasurer and any exempt person and/or organization electing to register with the clerk-treasurer shall not be required to pay any registration fee if they elect to so register.
